Also, listen to Wayne Devine talking about the Devine Liberty Swing on ABC Radio's "Innovations" Program.
Q: How much park area is required within the fenced area of a Liberty Swing?
The combined moving mass of The Liberty Swing, its rider and their wheelchair would be dangerous to any bystanders or observers who happened to stray within the path of the Swing in use. Liberty Swings are contained within a perimeter of quality safety fencing that encloses an area of approximately 25 - 30 square metres. In addition to this, each Liberty Swing is fitted with bright, easy-to-read safety instructions and warning signage.
Q: Why do you need a key to unlock the Liberty Swing?
Although it would be wonderful for the Swing to be available to everyone all the time, it is important that the Swing be used correctly and with suitable Carer's supervision. It would be a pity if the joy of swinging was to be removed from legitimate Swing users by people incorrectly using the Swing or through vandalism. By having the Swing locked with a MLAK key, we will hopefully ensure that Liberty Swings remain in Public Parks, Schools and Reserves for people with disabilities to enjoy
Q: Where do I get a MLAK key?
